This is Full-Moon Himalayan Singing Bowl. It's made one when there's a full moon and handcrafted by a Nepalese master working with a secret alloy. The base note, the blend of harmonics, and the way it resonates - these are all unique for each bowl. No two are alike.
Our binaural microphone records life-like sound, and what you're hearing now is the sound *inside* the bowl. One soft strike with a velvet-covered mallet will create a note with an impossibly long ring out. The mallet can also be rubbed around the rim, eliciting a sustained musical note.
Our Singing Bowl Specialist Christina will now perform a south bath session. Our microphone is placed where your head would be, to capture the same perspective. Use headphones for the best effect, and if you can, find a space to lie down, and close your eyes.
You'll hear some soft movement as Christina readies to sound the next bowl. These meditations can be an hour-long or more, but this performance was shortened for this podcast.
You've been hearing a south bath meditation. Here is The Singing Bowl Gallery, postcode 068914. Check out this episode's show notes for more information, or visit our website, hearhere.show
